DashX will be teaching a Robotics class again this year at the QAGTC Conference!

Dates: September holidays (2 Workshop dates to choose from)

  • Monday September 25
  • Tuesday September 26

Location: Our Lady’s College - Annerley

Students will build and keep their own robot using multicolor RGB-LEDs, servos (motors), and an Arduino (microcontroller).

Payment and registration is done directly via QAGTC.

RoboBloX

Description

Build, Program, and Bring-to-life your own Skittle Sorting robot!

Students will build and keep their own robot using multicolour-LEDs, servos motors, and an Arduino (microcontroller).

They will learn hands-on skills as they drill, solder, saw, assemble, and program.

Children will learn problem-solving and coding skills as they bring their new robot to life.

Students will learn to program their robot on their own laptop using a visual drag-and-drop programing language based on Scratch by MIT, called mBlock.

Requirements

No Previous experience is needed

Laptop Laptop - Mac or Windows - iPads won't work
Limited laptops will be available to borrow by prior arrangement.
Nothing fancy is needed, any laptop new or even very old will work.

Laptop DOWNLOAD mBlock - All students should download and install mBlock before class.

Kit Arduino SkittleBot Kit - $10
QAGTC is subsidising the levy but there is a Student levy of $10 payable (to QACTC) with registration for this workshop for a Robotics Kit.

 

 

Drag-and-Drop Programing

Scratch

Students will learn to program their robot on their own laptop using a visual drag-and-drop programing language based on Scratch by MIT, called mBlock.
